Ospitale delle Rifiorenze A.P.S. Hostel

Description

L?Ospitale delle rifiorenze ? ?The Hostel of Re-Flowerings? ? is a project of the non governmental organization. Mani Tese Firenze, in collaboration with the municipality of Florence and with the help of its partners, the Cultural Foundation of the Ethical Bank (Fondazione Culturale Responsabilità Etica), Caritas, the cooperative Riciclaggio e Solidarietà and the Educatorio di Fuligno institute.

During the cold months of the year, the Carmine complex, which has been restored in the occasion of the Jubilee 2000, offers hospitality to the homeless;
but from April to October, it transforms completely: it becomes a centre of national and international volunteering.
And it becomes the centre of a new kind of tourism which is not only following a more aware and more respectful path, but which is also in search of the Other Florence, the real Florence with its warm solidarity.

The Convent and Church Carmine complex represents, together with Santo Spirito, the most important building outside the second circle of the city's walls, on the other side of the Arno river.

Between Piazza Santo Spirito and Borgo San Frediano: the Carmine complex in which the Ospitale is situated, the hostel is at the center of a historical and popular neighborhood, ten minutes on foot from the Ponte Vecchio and the train station.

Besides the hospitality, the hostel offers also a number of complementary services, among which the following:

Opening hours of service at the Ospitale are the following:

- Open: from 7.00 to 12.30 and from 16.00 to 02.00

- Arrival and registration of guests: 08.00 - 12:30 and 16:00-02.00

- Checkout from rooms: 10.00

By train
From the central train station Santa Maria Novella (900m): bus number 11, 36, 37. Get off at the second bus stop in via de' Serragli, then go to piazza del carmine and search the number 19...you are near the corner and you have just to turn, here you have the OSPITALE, piazza Piattellina 1!!
from there you can also come by walk trough via dell'albero, via maso finiguerra, via di melegnano, vespucci's bridge, all straight up to via dell'orto when you go left and at the end you find OSPITALE and piazza piattellina!
